Our Visitors

We were lucky to have some visitors Thursday and Friday of last week.  Grandma Vickie, Aunt Rachel, and Mason came to visit.  On Thursday evening they stayed at a local hotel so that Mason could swim.  And Melanie and I got to go swimming as well.  Good times were had by all.  Jarod got home late Thursday night.  I waited up so we could open up our ultrasound picture.  And as I said in a previous post we are excited to be having a baby boy!
On Friday we all headed in opposite directions.  Melanie had her 12 month check up.  She got four shots and a blood draw.  Poor baby.  The blood draw was rough on both Mel and Mommy.  During the screaming during her shots I realized she was also cutting a new tooth.  We had fantastic news from the doctor.  Ready for this....  Melanie is in the 30th percentile!!!!  She is only a little behind on her motor skills.  She is not standing on her own on walking on her own yet.  However, the doc said motor skills are the skills he worries about least at this age.  So many children aren't standing or walking by 12 months.  It's completely normal.  He said considering her adjusted age is 10 months, she is doing fantastic.  That he fully expected her to be further behind.  We LOVE hearing things like this!!!
After the doctor's appointment we picked up Jarod who had been home doing work all day and headed for the zoo to meet up with everyone.  We had such a good time with everyone.  We enjoy spending time with family so much.
Thanks to my mother in law for taking all the pictures.
