Tummy Time

We had the lady from Missouri's First Steps come to our house on Tuesday.  It is a program that is state funded for babies 0-3 years that have developmental delays.  Melanie qualifies because she was born before 32 weeks.  To me, it seems a lot like Parents as Teachers...  Melanie is right on track for the things she should be doing for a baby that is 7 weeks old.  And to be honest, it's hard to even judge what she is doing now because she should still be in my belly for another two weeks.  So she gets a little slack.  One thing the lady did ask was if she was doing tummy time.  I didn't think tummy time should be done until about 2 months or so....  And we haven't even gotten to our due date.  She said that its never to early to start tummy time.  She said to try it for 20 minutes a day.  After trying it out today, I think we will be working our way up to 20 minutes a day!
